HOME REMEDIES FOR DARK CIRCLES

                             

                 Dark rings under the eyes are not a serious skin problem. It is mainly caused due to lack of sleep, poor diet, continuous exposure to computers, illness, and stress. Worry not there are several remedies to get rid of dark circles and now I am gonna write about the best of those.

1.Potato: 

                Potatoes have a natural bleaching agent which helps to lighten the dark circles. If you have read my previous article about bleaching (Natural ways to bleach your skin) you will come to know about it.
Grate potato and extract juice from it. Soak two cotton pads in that juice and keep it on the dark circles, ensure that it covers it completely. Leave it for 10 min and then rinse it with cold water. Do this daily for 2 weeks to see the results.

2.Almond Oil:

                    Almond oil is a good source of Vitamin E. It is very beneficial for your delicate skin around the eye. It makes your skin soft and supple.
Before going to bed apply sweet almond oil on dark rings and massage gently and leave it overnight. Wash it off the next morning. Follow this remedy daily until dark circles disappear.  

3.Tomato:

                Tomato has natural bleaching properties. Tomato is a fruit that is used as a vegetable which helps in lightening the skin tone too.
Take one spoon of tomato juice, mix 3-4 drops of lemon juice to it and apply that mixture under the eye. Let it sit for 10 min and then rinse it off with cold water. Follow this twice a day for 2-3 weeks to see the results.

4.Cucumber:

                    Cucumber contains lots of anti-oxidants which helps in fading dark circles and reduce the puffiness. They are the best in soothing and cooling your eyes. It also has mild astringent properties in it.
Cut a cucumber into slices. Chill it in the fridge for about 30 min and then place the slice on the dark circles for about 10 min. Then rinse that area with water. Repeat this process twice a day for a week to get a better result.

5.Rose Water:

                        Rosewater rejuvenates the skin and reduces dark circles on regular usage. It has a mild astringent property which can act as a skin toner.
Soak the cotton pads in rose water chill it for 10 min and put it on your eyes. Let it sit for about 20 min or till you feel the pad is dried. No need to rinse your eye. 6.Coconut oil:

                    Due to its moisturizing property, it’s very effective in reducing dark circles and preventing wrinkles.
Massage extra virgin coconut oil under the eye, leave it for few hours and wash it off. Repeat this 2-3 times a week until u get rid of the dark shadow.

7.Teabags:

                    Green tea contains antioxidants in it. It is very beneficial in reducing dark circles. All you have to do is, dip the tea bags in water and place it in the fridge for 10 min. Then remove it and place it on your dark circles for about 15 minutes. Repeat it once a week to see the results.

8.Mint Leaves:

                        Mint leaves are rich in Vitamin C and it is effective in improving your skin texture and reduces dark circles.
Crush mint leaves and mix it with few drops of rose water and extract the juice from it. Apply that juice under the eyes and allow it to dry for 10 min. Rinse it with water.
Note: Mint leaves can cause irritation to a few people. It’s always best to do the patch test before using it on the face.

9.Turmeric:

                    Turmeric has antiseptic, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which help in reducing dark rings and you would get a softer and smoother skin.
Apply a mixture of turmeric and lime juice (or rose water) under the eyes. Leave it for 10 min n rinse your eyes with cold water. Do this daily until you get better results.

10.Milk:

              Milk removes tan (Home remedies to remove sun tan) and helps in soothing the skin. It has lactic acid in it which helps in improving skin texture.
Dip a cotton pad in milk and place it on your eyes. Leave it until it dries and then rinse it off with water. Do this regularly to get better results.

10.Aloe Vera Gel:
                        
                        This is one of the best ways to reduce dark circles since it has vitamin E and anti-pigmentation properties. It helps in improving blood circulation. Make sure you buy an organic and pure form of aloe vera gel.
